So this is my take on Hummus with a little twist because I don’t like most tahini’s. I have had a couple of nice ones but I also have tasted a couple of really not so nice ones which can throw out the flavour of your Hummus so I just switched out the ingredient so I didn’t have that problem anymore, so as a result I have added the alternative of almond, cashew or peanut butter. All of these have the same properties so they all work for consistency so just pick your preference. We go with almond, as we like this flavour the best.
I make this Hummus for my daughter and my mum as to be honest chickpeas would not be my favourite food. (Though I do love chickpea flour – go figure) I have had to get used to eating them. But, I do eat them as we don’t eat a lot of red meat (if any) so we do need to make sure we get our protein intake. My eating has changed a fair bit from what I once ate and as I get older I find that I can’t tolerate the foods that I used to. I actually used to love a good steak or chop but now when I eat red meat I just feel heavy and lethargic and I feel like it gets stuck in my body. I do eat meat now but it’s normally only chicken and sometimes fish I do mainly stick to the white meats.
I really don’t like beans or legumes of any sort so you know when I add to them to my recipes its fully for my nutrition and I need them to taste as good as they can! Otherwise I don’t want to eat them (LOL)! I am worse than a fussy kid!

I love this satay dressing, so easy to make and I use it for so many different things!
Sometimes I add the ginger but I don’t always have fresh in the house….
